JOWY Productions invites you to Wedding Wednesdays: Dare to Bare the Unexpected

Though we are all about weddings, we do like to see wedding dresses for a bride that are not so…well…bridal. That is why we love the 2013 Spring bridal fashions and the emergence of the unexpected walking the runway for weddings.  There are bohemian style dresses, dresses with color, short frocks and long, fuss free gowns.

One of our favorite designers this season is Lanvin.  There seems to be something for every kind of bride--from short to long, white to not so white, intricate and detailed to loose and free flowing.  Let's “ooh” and “ahh” together over the Lanvin Blanche collection. Stunning!

Which style is your favorite?  We would love to hear in the comments below.

JOWY Productions invites you to Wedding Wednesdays: Something Borrowed

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue...

We all know that old adage, but who says the bride is the only one that this should apply too?  We think bridesmaids should get to enjoy something borrowed as well.  And so do the girls at Little Borrowed Dress.

They are the first online boutique that allows brides to choose the "perfect" dress for their bridesmaids in a way that everyone can afford.  Bridesmaids get to return the dresses too! Gone are the days of bridesmaids dresses collecting dust in the closet or being musty reminders of wedding memories long after the last bit of cake was eaten!

How it Works:

1. Brides can scour the site and find a dress(es) that fits with their wedding style

2. The style is then sent to each bridesmaid to ensure the correct size and fit (up to two different sizes can be sent)

3. Place an order online and the dresses show up two weeks before the event date

4. Bridesmaids can return their dresses in a prepaid envelope provided for them and drop it off at the nearest Post Office or mailbox -- so easy!

Now brides and bridesmaids can have the perfect dress and afford it too!  (So long are the days of buying a dress that you will never wear again!)

What do you think of this idea?  We would love to hear your thoughts below!

Happy Wednesday!

Sometimes we come across a picture that so perfectly captures why we do what we do and the simple beauty in a wedding!  This was one of those pictures!

Wedding Wednesday: Mark Your Date

Save The Dates have become popular in the last decade as people's lives are getting busier and busier and destination weddings are becoming more prevalent. Getting the word out of when your wedding will be allows one's guests to mark their calendars.

First, there were paper Save The Dates sent to all guests, then came electronic Save The Dates, and the newest trend we are seeing is video Save The Dates.  It is a great way to showcase a couple and their personality and to engage the guests in the event right from the start—setting the tone.

There are millions of them online but here is our favorite:

*Natasha & Jerry had an amazing wedding with JP!

What are your thoughts?  Would you ever do a video Save The Date?

Wedding Wednesday: Holiday Cards for the "Almost-Weds"

Being engaged but not yet married can be a confusing time during the holidays.  How do you sign your cards? If you don’t live together what’s the return address? You want to send a card but don't want it to seem "weddingish".   We love the ideas of "almost-weds" sending out a holiday card so don't let the confusion stop you from spreading a little holiday cheer.

Here are a few tips to help you navigate the world of holiday cards...

Names:

If you have already sent out your Save The Date, a fun signature for your names could be “The Future Mr. and Mrs. Smith”.

If that sounds too formal for you as a couple you can always sign just your first names and forget last names altogether.

Return Address:

For your return address cards you can simply use your first names and pick an address (if you are not cohabitating).  Or, design a stamp with your initials to use on the return address.

Photo or Image:

You can use your favorite engagement photo if you have one or you can select a great graphic that you like instead. Something that resonates with you two as a couple, a unit. The choice is yours.
We love Tiny Prints for their great selection and service.

The most important thing is to pick a card that represents who you are as a couple.  It can be romantic, funny or quirky as long as it showcases the two of you. We want your recipients receiving you card open it up and say "this is so them!"

But the holidays are fast approaching so, if you haven’t picked your holiday cards yet, we suggest you fa-la-la-la along immediately.

Happy Holidays,

JP
