JOWY Productions invites you to Wedding Wednesdays: Pom Poms!
In the forties and fifties, attaching pom poms to the bride and groom's wedding car as they drove away signaled to everyone who saw them that they just got married. Often, the pom poms would be accompanied by a sign that read "Just Married". We think this tradition is just precious enough to bring back this summer; we have seen pom poms, in general, re-emerging as a décor trent for baby and wedding showers and some birthday parties too (even weddings).
The truth is that pom poms are easy to make on your own and can be fastened to the car using suction cups. See below for instructions. You'll need tissue paper, twine and some scissors to make these darling decorations come to life!
HOW TO:
1.For one pom-pom, you'll need four 6-by-9 1/2 inch pieces of issue paper (if you'd like multi-colored pom-poms, use patterned paper or sheets in different colors.
2. Stack Paper; fold accordion-style, making 3/4 inch folds.
3. Snips ends into points; tie middle with twine.
4. To make a garland, tie the flat pom-poms together with twine.
5. Tie on suction cups where needed and affix cups to car
6. When you're ready to decorate the car, fluff out each pom-pom
